There is a sign up sheet for the kitchen on the bulletin board at the multiplex. Shifts are limited until a more permanent kitchen is built. Pat is in need of people to work this weekend so if you are looking for some hours please check the board and sign up. Remember to put both your name and a contact number where you can be reached on the schedule. More hours will be available in the near future so check back often.
Thanks everyone for your patience.

Sylvan Lake Arena 'Commemorative Salute' Photo
Sylvan Lake Arena 'Commemorative Salute' Photo for EVERYONE who has ever donned a pair of skates in the "ol' girl" over the last four decades. Photo to be taken Tuesday Feb 4 at 4:30 pm at the back side of the Arena.
We invite all current Lakers, Recreational and Competitive hockey teams to come out. Teams, can you please have your Manager bring both black and white jerseys as we may try to create a symbol IF we have enough players and people in white and black… Your team will be assigned a colour onsite if this is to happen. Managers/Coaches check in with Darcy or Kelly at the Trilliant Cube Van in the parking lot on the North side of the Arena between 4-430 for final instructions about jerseys.
This photo is open to everyone. We ask if you will not be wearing a jersey to please (if possible) wear something in Laker colors.
We will be taking the picture from an overhead boom and we want to show a sea of people showing their pride "we can't have enough people show up". Just think of how great this picture would look on your wall at home, posted on Kraft Hockeyville website or in our new facility for all the world to see how much the Grand Lady meant to us.
Bring hockey sticks so we can salute with sticks raised!!
It will be cold so dress accordingly. And if we end up with a lot of people there PLEASE, PLEASE BE SAFE AND COURTEOUS to everyone. There are going to be a lot of people in a tight area so communicate this to your kids and keep the horseplay to a minimum.
Picture will be taken as close to 430 pm as possible so please arrive early and park in one of the North lots along the railway tracks. DO NOT park in the Health Services lot.
Tell all your friends and family to show up! Email, Tweet or Facebook everyone in your contact list as this will REALLY send a loud message to the Kraft Hockeyville Nomination Committee!!!
Let's do this Lakers!!!

Minor Hockey Kitchen Hours
As you are all aware, we have lost our arena and with it our kitchen. Anyone who has shifts scheduled over the next few weeks (possibly longer), they have been canceled. The focus of our association at this point is getting the teams back on the ice for practices and games. At this point, there is no kitchen to work hours, and for the foreseeable future, there wont be. Right now it is not known when we will have access to the facility again. After use of the ice surface has been restored, Minor Hockey and the Town of Sylvan Lake will look at the possibilities of a kitchen at the Multiplex. The associations goal is to have an kitchen operating as soon as possible. Plans for hours cannot take place until this process is complete. We appreciate your patience in this matter and will keep you informed as soon as information becomes available.

Arena / Multiplex Update
The Town of Sylvan Lake has informed the SLMHA that the Multiplex will continue to remain closed until the Arena has been demolished. Engineers have reviewed the balance of the Old Arena structure and determined there is a very real possibility of further collapse which could damage the South wall of the Multiplex. Unfortunately a timeline for demolition has not been determined - it could be upwards of a week or more until we have access to the Multiplex again.
Thanks for your patience as this matter is dealt with and special thanks to Graham, his team and all the supportive Communities around Sylvan as they work to reschedule all of our Games and Practices.
We will continue to post updates as further information is made available to us.
